Who We Are
Rocca srl: 140 years of Tradition
Clemente Rocca and his brother, at the dawn of their youth and traveling musicians, moved to France in 1880, delighting the French public with the local music of their native region, Ciociaria.
Together with their profession, they improvised other activities
of small sellers of candies, sweets and balloons along the
Marseille coasts. At the time balloons were produced by a
German company, of which they were sellers.
In 1884 they were lucky to discover the secret of the
method for welding latex rubber and established the first
manual production of balloons

Clemente Rocca
In the following century, his son continued the business, then Clemente and today Giuseppe and Antonio.

Balloon production over the centuries
Balloons were produced using latex rubber sheets, cut out with suitable scissors or shaped with special steel moulds in the shape of a balloon. The two silhuettes were wet on the edge with specific chemicals to favour the welding process, then overlapped and beaten on the edge with a suitable hammer, thus favouring the permanent union of the two silhuettes.
Balloon was born through a purely manual production and develo- ped over time through increasingly evolved tools structures
Balloon’s manual process continued to be used until 1955, until American technique revolutionized the production procedure using liquid natural latex rubber.
Since this period, many technological innovations have followed.
Giuseppe and Antonio's Rocca Srl company, specific only for the creation of giant balloons, has preserved an artisanal structure for technical production reasons, allowing the final product to have excellent standard quality.
